I am sorry that I cannot be with you all to celebrate the life of Ray.
I am starting my new teaching year in Mandurah.
Ray was always such a friendly face each early morning at Middleton Beach.
He was a kind and caring man who always asked how I was.
He would say I was the mermaid paddling.
I will miss him, just as I miss each Salty Southerner.
I think Ray will be swimming each morning with you all forever more.
I will be with you all in spirit today.
