  1. A Real Man Amongst Men.

Jules was the epitome of a model father. Bedtime stories, playful afternoons, and unforgettable day trips—like being carried on his broad shoulders through the West End of London—were the norm. He built Lego with me, taught me about love, life, and martial arts, and showered me with endless love and affection. He was a Dad that would protect me with his life in a blink of an eye from anything and anyone.

Passionate and fiercely loyal, he had a wicked sense of humour. Cooking wasn’t his forte; he often joked that he could burn cornflakes. His gaze could make even Mike Tyson think twice before crossing him. With the looks and charisma of a Hollywood star, his sharp wit was fit for a Clint Eastwood film. His love was vast, powerful, and palpable. He spoke of his family with immense pride, and we were his greatest treasure. His rock and soulmate, Marion, was his guiding light, keeping him grounded.

He remains my hero and role model, the blueprint of what it means to be a dad. Loved and revered by many, he leaves an enormous void in our lives.

I will miss my dad more than anything. He played a huge part in shaping the person I am today; he truly was the best.

I love you so very, very much Dads. Always have and always will…

  3. A really loverly tribute Will. I know he loved you and your family dearly and talked of you all so often. Jules was a great friend to me (more of a brother) for nearly fifty years. In London we used to have Whin Chung and Jujitsu battles on the stairs to my bedsit. And when he moved to the gamekeeper's lodge at London Zoo, we would walk around in the middle of the night checking out the animals. Jules will be dearly missed as a humble, caring, humorous and first-class human being. I hope you will continue to visit down under in the future.

thoughts are with Marion and family, and all those who held Julian dear.

    regards
    Greg Donovan

  6. Oh dear Jules. I can’t believe you have left this world. You were a thoroughly decent and interesting man. I always enjoyed crossing paths with you at the City of Albany. Later I loved to see you out of work in your shorts, tee-shirt and thongs with your white socks where the tan ended. You often referred to Marion as ‘my girl’ and the way you said those words spoke volumes about your love for her. My heartfelt condolences to Marion and family.

  7. What a wonderful man. Despite knowing you for only a couple of years, the joy you brought to my life everytime we met was truly special.

We first met at Elandrial Games, and we bonded quickly over our shared love of model building and painting. It was a joy to be able to share such a beloved passion of mine with someone else just as passionate as I was. I remember our usual jokes about the amount of airbrush cleaner you needed on a regular basis, and always loved seeing pictures of your latest projects. I still remember the sadness I felt realising I had to inform you that the store was closing down. The final day of operation for the store was a sad one, but it was made better with your presence; your farewell and best wishes to myself and the other staff meant the world to me, and we promised to keep in touch.

My partner Erika and I looked to you as sort of an honourary 'grandpa' to us, someone who always wished us the best in life, and each time one of us bumped into you around town would have us excitedly chatting about how we spoke to you during the day. It saddens me that our time knowing each other was short, but it was most definitely sweet.

With your time here with us ending, myself and Erika bid you farewell with love. We will remember you with great fondness, and I will always have a piece of you with me every time I pick up a paintbrush.

    Rest easy mate <3

  8. Your gentle tones, and willing smile, walking softly on the earth, creating colours with nature, bringing joy to all. A friend to many and a most beloved life companion to our angel, Marion. John will find you, together you can watch over those you have loved so well. Thank you for making the world a better place...

  12. Grandad Jules had a way of bringing light to even the darkest moments. He was the kind of person who could always put a smile on your face, no matter what you were going through. During some of the hardest times in my life, he had a way of letting me know he was there—sometimes it was a simple photo of Shazzy, Mate, a beach, or a breathtaking sunset that would suddenly appear on my phone. Those small gestures, full of love and thoughtfulness, meant more than I think he ever realised.

Even though distance separated us, his love was felt accross an ocean. He had a special way of making his presence felt, and his kindness and influence touched so many lives. He will always be remembered—not just for the man he was, but for the love he gave so freely.

I’ll miss you forever Grandad. Love you always. ❤️
