The farm trips and information supplied by John were the highlight of Roger's farming days there. We looked forward to a cheery knock on the door and a query about the kettle being on, to find smiling John.......and a "little" Saint Bernard puppy!

The times we spent travelling was always so relaxing knowing John was looking after our animals.

John was the Managing Partner of the Civil Engineering Dept of Wood and Grieve Engineering. I refer to working as a Civil Engineer for W&G as my first serious professional job. John was a fabulous man to work for. His problem solving ability was the best I have come across.
John had an enormous influence bolh professional and leadership style over my career.

We pretty much grew up seeing our cousins and Uncle John a few times a year. Now it's sad there will be no more calls or catch ups with Uncle John.
As kids we feared him a bit. Uncle John ran a tight ship, but was always fair. However I do a remember us kids in the back while Uncle John was doing burnouts on the white sand of some flat beach, us mob cheering for more each time. Uncle John's fun loving side was always present.
Over the last 15 years the conversations got more profound and we got to know each other better. I will miss you Uncle John.
My thoughts are with you Annuity Glenda, Kim and Adrian. It's sad to see such a top bloke leave this world.
Adrian and Kim you have such fulfilled lives, and it is partly due to your father's influence that you have both enjoyed success. Aunty Glenda, the team you and Uncle John were together, what perfect life partnership. Rock solid and admirable. The success of your family fills me with joy.
The smiles and humor from you Uncle John, whenever we visited, have left forever impressions within my heart. Thank you for your wisdom and kindness Uncle John.

Uncle John was always ready with a joke and a cheeky twinkle in his eye. Despite losing touch many years ago I treasure memories of conversations we had when I was in my early teens. His sage advice always delivered with good humour and intent. I always looked up to Uncle John as a man of unimpeachable integrity and great kindness. Much love to Aunty Glenda and family.
