  1. Chris, you absolute gentleman with such a strong sense of family. Your presence and love for our daughter, and shared granddaughter, told me so much about what a beautiful generous and kind human you truly were. There will be a huge hole in all of the lives you impacted, but with your beautiful spirit in mind, they will fill the holes with sweet, fun, happy memories. May you rest in peace knowing how much love and joy you gave others and how you showed up on every occasion. I thank you for showing us love and acceptance as a family joining yours through our children's marriage. You will be remembered with warmth and love. You will be so terribly missed by all of us.

  2. Our heartfelt thoughts are with the Zur family on the passing of Chris. Frank and Denise Haynes.

  4. Farewell to a laraken that was taken way before his time.
Chris your laughs forever had. How you always had a smile despite if things went wrong during a vintage.
Always a smile wherever you went. Biggest battler ever walked this earth. My heart goes out to your beloved wife and your gorgeous kids ❤️ lots love from Chloe ex Ferngrove worker

  5. Thanks so much for the memories Chris, and for the lovely family you and Sue bought into the world - we know you'll be watching over them.
We will miss your smile and sense of humour, your generosity and your stories.
    You'll be sorely missed. XX

  6. Chris and I grew up as school mates, we lived around the corner from each other, surfing at Warilla Beach, where we formed a friendship for life.

I’d like to share a moment that’s stayed with me for years. Chris and I were on holiday in Bali when he met Sue.
I remember it clearly—the way his face lit up when he saw her, like something in the world just clicked into place. We were just a few mates on holiday, and suddenly, it became the beginning of his greatest love story.

That was Chris. He lived fully, loved deeply, and never missed a chance to lean into life with his whole heart. Whether we were traveling, having a laugh over a few beers, Chris had this rare way of making you feel like you truly mattered.
He was more than a friend— he was a brother. Loyal to the core. He and Sue always made time to catch up with my family and I whenever they were visiting the Illawarra.

His passing leaves a huge gap and reminds us to always live in the present. I will forever be grateful for the memories and in the knowing that he’s still with us and always will be.

Chris, thank you for the love and friendship, I’ll miss you, mate. I hope you are riding the perfect left hander.

    Pinkie (Ian Tani) and family.

Thinking of you all with heartfelt thoughts and prayers. Remembering Chris for his dedication and commitment to Ferngrove for many many years. Forever will be remembered with fondness and gratitude.

  8. I have very fond memories of my childhood growing up next door to Chris and his family. Chris and I played together as young children and socialised together as teens as our families celebrated birthdays and other special occasions together. We attended primary and high school together, Chris was a very bright, polite and sensible boy with a great sense of humour and fun. We played tennis on the road, cricket in the backyard, countless games of hide and seek and handball. As we became young adults our lives took us in different directions and unfortunately we didn't keep in touch. I am however, grateful for the time that I had knowing Chris in the early years of his life and happy that he forged such an amazing career and life in WA with his wife Susan and their boys. My heartfelt condolences go out to Susan, the boys and to all the Zur family. May you be comforted by each other and the memories you hold dear of Chris during his life on this earth.

  9. It was lovely to get to know you Chris.
Top guy and a huge regard for your work ethic and dedicated passion for the vineyards at Ferngrove.
I really enjoyed the times we spent together and will treasure the memories.
    Condolences to Sue and family.
    Steve James.

  10. Sincere condolances Sue & family. Chris was wonderful person and great friend during my time at Ferngrove.

  11. Feeling very honoured to have had the privilege to have gotten to know Chris through my time working at Ferngrove.

His dedication and loyalty to his Family, friends and work were truly admirable.

At the Ferngrove 25th Birthday celebration last year, I watched him walk into the room with Sue and witnessed those who worked for Chris in the vineyard light up as they all ran his way with such joy and elation. It was truly the most wonderful sight to see and showed just how respected and loved he was.

I was sorry I couldn't make it down today but watched from afar and felt the love and admiration he so very much deserved.

Vale Chris, your were a bloody great bloke and you are sorely missed.

Sending all my love to you and your beautiful family Sue.
