I feel so honoured to share these words, even though I can’t be there in person today.
You were such a special part of my life—more than a friend, truly like a stepfather to me in all the ways that matter. Being with you in your final days was an honour I will always carry with me.
Some of my most cherished memories are the simple ones—our coffees and lunches along York Street, talking about everything and nothing. You had a beautiful way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued.
Through all the highs and lows, our phone calls meant so much. You were always there—steady, warm, and ready to listen or share a laugh.
I often think of our weddings—yours and Heather’s on Rufus Street under those beautiful trees you helped plant, and mine as well. Moments filled with love and connection that feel even more precious now.
You knew everyone, and everyone knew you. You were always up for a chat, a catch-up, a genuine moment of connection. That was just who you were.
And I’ll never forget finding Kia. We were at your garage sale, chatting away, when we came across her. We told Heather we’d be back soon as we loaded the car—and then we met her… Kia. So beautiful, and so protective of you. She was yours, and now she’ll be cared for by Brian. One of those unexpected, beautiful moments that became something so meaningful in my life. That was you too… bringing people, and little bits of joy, together so naturally.
You will be so deeply missed. Your presence, your kindness, your steady friendship—it has left a mark that will stay with me always.
Thank you for everything you gave, for the way you loved, and for the space you held in my life.
Oh Tony you were here for me when my RAAF dad passed away. Even though we never got to meet in person, I trusted in you as you were one of Rolly’s best mates. I knew you were only a phone call away if I needed a vent or guidance. I’ll be having a cruiser for you today. You’ll be greatly missed. My thoughts are with Heather and your family.
You’re not in pain any more mate. May you rest in peace.
Tony was my cousin and one of my closest friends. He was kind, caring and always had time to listen. He will be deeply missed. My deepest condolences to Heather and her family in this sad time. May Tony rest in peace and stay in our hearts forever. Love Monique xox
A truly compassionate man who is missed very much. You saved me from homelessness without hesitation, and for that I could never repay your or Heather.
It was an honour to know you and you will never be forgotten, just be there to open the gate for me when it’s my time.

Tony was a kind friend who kept in touch with me even after my divorce from his childhood friend. I thank him for that. Rest in peace Tony. My deepest condolences and sympathies to Heather and family.
