Despite having left Moonta many years before I existed it felt like Aunty Beryl never lost her love for her birth district and the people she left behind in it. We have many wonderful memories made from the efforts she took to stay connected to us, here left behind from her life in the West. We sent cassette tapes as children and were able to surprise her with a visit when I was six. We stayed with her as newlyweds and she was able to attend the baptism of our first born. Many letters and cards flowed. The distance reduced as technology improved. I will always be grateful to have such a dedicated Great Aunty whose genuine interest in me, my life and that of my family will never be forgotten. I'm sad we will not see her again but very much like the idea that she's again with Grandpa and Gran. Much Love Georgina Chambers (nee Philbey)
