I fondly remember the times Sonya’s Auntie Cisca and our family spent with Sonya & her family in years past. Special memories.
Margarita & I cherish the few times we spent with Sonya in recent times. Thank you, Stephen for allowing us to come to the hospice in Albany. Sonya was an inspiring woman.
Dear Stephen, we are so sorry for your loss. Sonya will always be in our hearts. We are thinking of you, Stephen.
Sonya, see you in another life.
Florence and Christophe
Sonya is my Aunty and it's been a struggle to find the words to put in this tribute. Not because they're hard to find, but because there are so many. There are words of happiness; your smile and laughter are the first thing that come to mind when I think of you. Words of sorrow; for the emptiness and grief left behind from you leaving us too soon. Words of thankfulness; for the time we did get to have with you, especially in recent years when you got to meet my children. And words of love; because even though there is more distance between us now, you will always be loved and our memories with you forever treasured. We love you Aunty Sonya, from Meghan, Craig, Jimmy, Dean and Cooper xx
My deepest condolences to Sonya’s family. We were good friends during primary school and many a weekend was spent at Clydesdale dairy farm with you, your parents and your sisters Ingrid and Tamara, and little Shaunie.
You were my bridesmaid too in 1977, but the years and distances drew up apart. I am so sorry Sonya, fly free xx

Dear Stephen, Sorry to hear of Sonya's passing. Over the years she has had a significant impact on many people, and has been involved with progressing many different programs. My thoughts and feelings are with you and your family at this very challenging time.

Our hearts are with you Stephen as you grapple with this loss - Sonya's commitment and passion to our work and what we are trying to achieve here and her warm and compassionate interpersonal style will always be remembered. Warmest regards, Sarah
So many lovely memories of Sonya. From walking along together on Thursday Island, tripping over nothing and breaking my toe to wonderful talks over a glass of wine in Canberra and so many places in between.
She was a wonderful mentor and I learnt a lot from her that I carry with me today. Her impact is lasting and she is missed.
I had the fortune of working with her for over a decade at College of Medicine. I knew her as a very professional yet friendly person. We miss her dearly. May the lord bless her soul with peace and give strength to Stephen and family.
I am sad to hear that Sonya has passed away, condolences to Stephen and family. I worked with Sonya at JCU - she had such a memory for detail and was committed to both her role and JCU. I wish you safe travels Sonya. Regards Candi
